Having the chance to create with arts and crafts is very important in a child's development. It gives them an outlet to use their mind creatively, while also practicing the skill of concentrating on a task and following a teacher's directions.
Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are developed when children are given a pencil, scissors or brush, which helps them with their handwriting skills later on in life. Creating art also gives them the freedom to explore their ideas and think outside of the box, which are important aspects of general problem solving and help overcome obstacles.
