We always love having visitors at our Education Centre. Not only is it an opportunity for the children to meet the people who sponsor and support their education, but its a great chance to practice their english and learn about new cultures.
In September we were so excited to host Claire from The Rotaract Club of Perth and her sister Sarah from New Zealand. Although their stay was short, the students and teachers really enjoyed their company.
Claire and Sarah brought the students book marks which they spent an afternoon decorating, as well as boomerangs which the students were very curious about.
Our visitors also prepared powerpoint presentations about their countries and shared a little bit of Australia and New Zealand with out students.
What I personally love most about these visits is that our sponsors meet the children they sponsor. They've been hearing about these children, seeing photos and receiving letters from them, but now they finally get to meet. Claire has been sponsoring Sanjana and Rohit for about a year and a half and
they finally got to meet! Rohit and Sanjana were extremely shy but with the help of our teachers, they came out of their shells a bit and spent the afternoons giggling and trying to communicate in a mixture of english and hindi.
We hope Claire and Sarah enjoyed their visit and we hope they come back soon!
To all of our other supporters, our doors are always open to you and we hope to see you at our Education centre in India too!
